DECTRIS Distributor UNITE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED Joins the Hefei Light Source User Meeting

From August 1-3 2022, UNITE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (UNITE) attended the Hefei Light Source User Meeting as a distributor for DECTRIS Switzerland. UNITE presented the EIGER2 X and PILATUS3 X series detectors to synchrotron users, deepening cooperation between DECTRIS Switzerland and Chinese scientists.

From August 1-3 2022, the annual Hefei Light Source User Meeting & International Symposium on Advanced Light Facility was held in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province. Through conference invitation reports, user reports, and seminars, the event provided a platform for scientists to discuss research work and future development of large scientific facilities. This promoted the further application of synchrotron radiation technology in multidisciplinary fields.

As a distributor for DECTRIS, UNITE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED is responsible for the synchrotron and laboratory markets in China. At the Hefei User Meeting, the company focused on DECTRIS’ hybrid-photon-counting detectors PILATUS3 and EIGER2.

About the Hefei Light Source (HLS)

The first national laboratory (NSRL) in China is located on the West Campus of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), in Hefei, Anhui Province. It owns China’s first dedicated synchrotron radiation facility, the Hefei Light Source (HLS).

The construction of the HLS had already started in 1984 and included several projects. First, the HLS-I was built in two phases, Phase I (1984-1991) and Phase II (1999-2004). Soon afterward, in 2010, the NSRL started construction of the HLS-II. With its completion, the NSRL established a fully upgraded, soft X-ray synchrotron radiation facility. 

The synchrotron is close to the 3rd-generation level, and the facility has ten experimental stations: Infrared Spectroscopy and Microspectroscopy, Combustion and Flames, Mass Spectrometry, Soft X-ray Microscopy, Spectral Radiation Standards and Metrology, Atomic & Molecular Physics, Photoemission Spectroscopy, Catalysis and Surface Science, X-Ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism (XMCD), and Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy. It also has three exit ports, which are now open for conversion into future experimental stations.

The HLS’ superior radiation, together with its well-designed beamlines and experimental stations, allow scientists across the nation to perform cutting-edge experiments. Their research covers Physics, Chemistry, life sciences, material sciences, surface sciences, Metrology, Medicine, Microscopy, instrumentation, and many more.
