A look back at SRI 2018

DECTRIS presented a new detector series for high-energy applications at the 13th International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation Instrumentation (SRI) in Taipei. EIGER2 X CdTe detectors count photons with up to 100 keV with high efficiency. During our packed lunchtime seminar, we showed first results obtained with EIGER2 X CdTe and Harald Reichert (European Synchrotron) outlined the detector requirements of future radiation sources. Our users are enthusiastic that the small pixels, the high frame rate, the increased count rate capability and the two thresholds of EIGER2 will be available in early 2020 for high energy X-ray research.

SRI was the highlight of our 2018 conference calendar. Thank you for making our booth in Taipei such a vibrant place. Your discussions and feedback will help us improve our detectors according to your needs. Many talks and posters suggested features that you will need to answer the scientific questions of the future. We are here to develop these features and build detectors that help you do great science.

Several synchrotrons are currently realizing ambitious upgrade projects. At the next SRI in three years' time we will hear about your successes and see how DECTRIS continues to be your partner for X-ray detection. See you in Hamburg in 2021.
