Optimal signal-to-noise ratio
All MYTHEN2 detectors are inherently free of dark current and readout noise, since the detector operates in single-photon counting mode, with an adjustable energy threshold (Advanced Pixel). The absence of any detector noise, together with a range of sensor thicknesses and strip lengths guarantees data with an excellent signal-to-noise ratio for X-ray energies ranging from 4 to 40 keV (increased quantum efficiency).
